WINEMAKER :  Alex & Alison Sokol Blosser

REGION : Dundee Hills, Oregon

GRAPE : …quite a few… Riesling, Pinot Gris, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadet, Canelli, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer

VINTAGE : 2020

ABV : 12%

NOTES : Organic, Natural

Absolute barnstormer of a fresh, aromatic, zesty wine from Oregon. Each year, it evolves and the actual balance of the 9 grapes used in this is apparently a secret, if it’s even remembered. It’s unique and complex white showcasing elements that make each of its components great in its own right. Punch of bright citrus, peaches and pears with a touch of honey.  Sharp acidity with a linger and lasting smooth finish. Super aromatic too with lychee notes, melon, mango and lime zest. The high residual sugar is kept absolutely in check to the point you wouldn’t notice unless we mentioned it. Works incredibly well with Indian food and tandoori spicing. Every one of the 9 grapes tend be our preferred for spice so having them all in one place is perfect. Chuck it in with anything and it will fly.

WINERY & PRODUCTION

Sokol Blosser and his wife first planted some vines in the early 1970s and had an environmentally responsible approach from the start. This Evolution No 9 was launched in 98 and has developed a crazy loyal following ever since. It’s production method is pretty difficult to find but really shows the personality of the wine maker friendly that trust a zero intervention approach almost until bottling from the sounds of it.
